Polish poet, playwright and author, prominent figure of Polish comedy. He lived in Lviv on Fredra street named in his honour. His numerous comedies about curious sides of Lvivian aristocracy life greatly succeeded on the Lvivian stages and were published in five-volume edition in Vienna. The most popular are: Ladies and Husars, Mr. Jovial, Maidens' Vows, The Reveng. They are still favourite for many people.
