The eminent Polish mathematician. He was appointed assistant professor of Lviv University. Sierpinski was the first in Ukraine teaching the set theory, theory of functions of a real variable and the analytical theory of numbers. During those years Myron Zarytskyi, Ukrainian mathematician, studied at the University of Lviv, who under the influence of Sierpinski defined direction for further research.
